Dr. Awais Ahmed is currently an Associate Professor of structural engineering at the Department of Built Environment, faculty TKD. He obtained his M.Sc. joint degree in Earthquake Engineering from IUSS- Institute of Advanced Study and Universita Degli Studi Di Pavia, Italy. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computational Solid Mechanics from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands.

- Computational mechanics of materials,
- Advanced finite element methods (XFEM, phantom node, etc. ),
- Damage modeling in materials and structures (fiber-reinforced composites, asphalt concrete, masonry, and concrete structures, etc.),
