We are delighted to invite you to the end conference of the U-YouPa research project (uni.oslomet.no), funded by The Research Council of Norway. We will present and celebrate the group’s achievements with the launch of their forthcoming book Media Engagement, Literacy and Dialogue among European Youth (Routledge).
Professors Harald Hornmoen and Dagny Stuedahl from the Department of Journalism and Media Studies have led an international team of academics and youth who apply participatory research methods to provide insight into how young people use digital media. By involving them in the research, the team highlights how the youth draw on and develop their media literacy to engage in social issues through dialogue and activism.
The conference will introduce and discuss five of the book’s case studies from Norway, Austria and Germany. This will be followed by a panel of experts who will comment on the contribution and applicability of this research.
This book is intended for use in graduate courses, by doctoral students and the established research community and will be freely available online on taylorandfrancis.com.
