The research group works with projects related to the main areas of product design, aesthetics and culture for a sustainable future.

The research concerns:

• Creative processes for sustainable products and services

• Art-based investigations in public space

• Craft science in a cultural context

• Understanding of form and the connection between sensory experiences and concept development in the design process

• Creative competence and development of didactic, experimental methods

• Aesthetic practice as a means of creating communication and meaning

The group is organized under the Department of Product Design at the Faculty of Technology, Art and Design. We collaborate with leading universities in design, including OCAD University in Toronto Canada, Swansea University in Wales and Sao Paulo State University in Brazil. 

We have an extensive international research network, and our institute has modern workshops in the material areas of wood, metal, concrete, ceramics, textiles - with advanced 3D printers and other digital machines. The research group organizes seminars related to New European Bauhaus at OsloMet.
