This project addresses examples of age-friendly homes for older people, as well as obstacles municipalities and housing developers encounter during the phases of planning and building such housing solutions.
The aim of the project is to investigate what characterizes good housing for older people, how to stimulate the building of age-friendly housing, and how to motivate older people to move to such homes. A particular focus will be on more recent co-housing solutions.
The project will build on existing research literature, relevant statistics, a survey among a nationally representative sample of housing developers and in-depth interviews with older people already residing in age-friendly housing solutions, employees in selected municipalities and representatives of housing developers.
The results from the project will feed into the development of information material targeted older people and next-of-kin, as well as contribute to improving municipalities’ planning and building expertise and the guidance role of the Housing Bank.
