This course deals with medical and trauma patients, and provides an introduction to tentative diagnostics and emergency medical intervention.

Admission requirements

This course is part of the BA in paramedic sciences. You must be admitted to a bachelor programme in the field of paramedic sciences, nursing, medicine or similar.

Course description

A paramedic must have knowledge of clinical examination, patient history-taking and documentation related to emergency medical conditions and must be able to make sound assessments and decisions related to ill and injured patients’ priority, treatment and transport needs. 

The course provides an introduction to tentative diagnostics and emergency medical intervention and is based on recommendations on trauma made by the surgical and anaesthetic field.

Exam

The exam is a supervised individual written exam.

Grading scale: A-F.

Costs

There is no semester fee for exchange students.
