Course description

This course covers key topics within biochemistry, cell biology, and microbiology. 

Biochemistry explores the structure and function of biological molecules and energy transfer in cells. Cell biology focuses on human cell structure, cell cycle events, plasma membrane transport, intercellular communication, and protein synthesis from DNA. Microbiology introduces the main groups of microorganisms and viruses, especially those relevant to pharmacy and medicine, antibiotic mechanisms and resistance, and microbe identification and classification.

The course includes laboratory work, which provides an introduction to basic techniques used in molecular biology and microbiology.

Exam

The exam is a supervised individual written exam.

Grading scale: A-F.

Costs

There is no semester fee for exchange students.
