Economy and Sustainability (UTVB2300)

Bachelor's course
For exchange students

This course gives an introduction to different alternative economic systems/models and the debates about these alternatives. The course also reflects on myths about today's global economic system. The current economic system is both unsustainable and failing to meet the needs of a large part of the people living within the system. Resources are unevenly distributed, and our consumption of them is not within the limits of the planet’s carrying capacity. In this situation, visions and knowledge about different (sustainable) alternatives to the prevailing system is crucial.
