The aim of this course is to introduce the main legal concepts and principles of immigration law. The course will take into account the most important legal rules on the topic, focusing on the mechanisms and issues related to the right of nationals from the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and third countries to live and work in Norway. With this purpose, it will explore not only the Norwegian legal rules, but also the relevant EU/EEA provisions and the international dimension. Both voluntary (e.g. family and work) and forced (refugee) immigration will be considered.
