In this course, the focus is on practical news journalism. You will develop your photojournalistic skills so that you can work with the most common topics in photojournalism.
Admission requirements
You must have basic knowledge and skills of journalistic content production.
You must upload a motivation letter for this course and portfolio of photo and/or documentary work on your application to OsloMet.
Please notice that you are required to bring your own digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera or similar, with the ability to set the camera to manual functions.

Content
You will learn for example
- dramaturgy and narrative technique
- advanced use of still cameras for photography and video filming
- post-processing, and workflow for photographs and video
- portrait photography
- critical reflection on your own work
Teaching methods
The course is based on
- lectures and seminars
- group work with practical assignments
- individual assignments and feedback
A high degree of student-active learning is emphasized. It is compulsory to follow all teaching.

Costs
There is no semester fee for exchange students.
Exam and assessment
In order to be allowed to take the exam, you must deliver four courseworks that are practical production assignments.
The exam is an individual reflection paper on a journalistic issue related to the curriculum and your work on the assignments, length 2-3 pages.
