Referencing
Correct use of references is a requirement in all academic work. When referring to sources in text or setting up a bibliography, you must follow a specific reference style. The most used reference style at OsloMet is APA, but your study program may use another style. Ask your lecturer if you don't know which reference style to use.
User guides to reference styles
- APA 7th (kildekompasset.no)
- APA Manual (apastyle.apa.org). Guidelines for in-text citations and references.
- IEEE (kildekompasset.no)
- Vancouver (i.ntnu.no)
- Chicago (i.ntnu.no)
Help with referencing
- The Citation Compass (kildekompasset.no). Helps you cite sources correctly with APA 7th and IEEE. It also contains frequently asked questions and source evaluation.
- EndNote and Zotero are reference management systems that can help you cite correctly in your text.
Courses and guidance
The University Library provide guidance and organise courses in how to use APA style, EndNote, Zotero and much more. Information about the course and the guidance page (student.oslomet.no).
