Do you want to take a standalone PhD course without being admitted to one of our PhD programmes, but have been admitted to a PhD programme at another institution? Use the Application Web (fsweb.no) and load necessary documentation.
Please note that if you plan to apply for admission to a PhD programme later, the education component must correspond to at least 30 credits, of which at least 20 credits must be taken after admission. Elements to be included in the training component can not have been completed more than 2 years before the date of admission.
Registration and choice of courses
- If you are admitted to a PhD programme at another faculty at OsloMet or another institution, and wish to take standalone courses at the PhD level, you can apply through the Application Web (fsweb.no): Apply for admission to a individual subject programme, and enter the topic(s) you are applying for in the comments field. Find the course code on the OsloMet PhD course overview or the course table on the PhD programme website.
- If you have been admitted to one of the faculty's doctoral programmes, choose courses and register your participation through the Studentweb (student.oslomet.no).
Documentation
- Proof of Enrollment: Submit confirmation of your admission to a PhD programme.
- Project Summary: Provide a summary (approximately one A4 page) including the following details about your PhD or research project:
- Topic
- Methodology
- Theoretical framework
- Current progress in your PhD or research project
- Relevance of the chosen standalone course to your own research
Admission for external course participants
- Admission is typically granted for one semester. If you plan to enroll in multiple courses, please contact the academic administration.
- Courses are primarily designed for PhD candidates, with priority given to OsloMet PhD candidates.
- External applicants may be admitted based on available capacity.
