- Sikresiden.no (On the Safe Side) provides preventive training and advice on what to do in an emergency (sikresiden.no)
Ban against smoking and bringing pets into the building: Indoor climate (ansatt.oslomet.no).
In short, conduct that is not in accordance with normal manners and Norwegian law, or conduct that is disturbing or intimidating towards employees or other guests, is not acceptable. Such behavior includes:
- harassing or threatening behaviour
- violence
- offensive or insulting language and gesticulation
- unnecessary noise
Furthermore, it is not allowed to:
- to use drugs
- to sleep in the library
- to wash clothes, shave, cut hair or "shower" in the toilet rooms
- to collect or beg for money, campaigns/promotions or any types of lobbying, outreach activities
- to sell goods or services
- to openly practice religion or do missionary work (regardless of religion)
- to use a bike, skateboard, scooter, roller skates or similar
In addition the Forskrift om politivedtekt, Oslo kommune (Norwegian only) also applies.
Also be aware of:
- The University Library is not responsible for personal belongings that are stolen, lost or broken in the libraries.
- Furniture or similar must not block escape routes or emergency exits.
- One must leave the library when it closes.
- It is not permitted to photograph or film other persons in the library without their individual consent.
If guests do not comply with the rules and regulations, the staff will first issue a friendly reminder.
- Any violation of the regulations may lead to a temporary ban. Police or security guards may be called in to carry out the expulsion.
- Any infringement of the law may lead to a police report.
- Serious or repeated violations of the rules of conduct will be reported to the student administration or to the nearest manager.
