Ingrid Ruud Knutsen er professor ved Institutt for sykepleie og helsefremmende arbeid ved OsloMet. Knutsens forskning er overordnet sett knyttet til helsefremmende arbeid, helsetjenester, sykepleie og pasientundervisning. Hun har deltatt i ulike prosjekter nasjonalt og internasjonalt, med fokus på bl.a. livsstilssykdom, brukermedvirkning, pasientundervisning, sosialt nettverk og samarbeid i helsetjenesten. Hun har lang undervisningserfaring fra bachelorutdanningen i sykepleie og i masterutdanning i empowerment og helsefremmende arbeid og med veiledning av stipendiater. Fra 2020 har hun jobbet som studieleder ved studiested Kjeller og fra 2024 som instituttleder ved Institutt for sykepleie og helsefremmende arbeid.
