Kort om
Martin Vinther Bavngaard is a PhD Student in health technology at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Oslo Metropolitan University. His project constitutes the qualitative arm of 'BoVEL - Bo lenger hjemme med velferdsteknologi', an interdisciplinary research and innovation project involving Oslo municipality, No Isolation, and OsloMet. While the overall BoVEL project aims to uncover the effect of the social technology KOMP and its feasibility as a tool implemented in the homecare services among their existing repetoire of assistive technologies, Bavngaard's project explores the mechanisms underlying both of these questions. By employing a sociotechnical conceptualization of technology, the project investigates KOMP's implementation into both familial and organizational contexts, and by doing so revealing the complexities of human-technology relations.
Bavngaard holds both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Media Science (2019 and 2021, respectively) from the University of Southern Denmark, where he also worked as an instructor, teaching assistant, academic counsellor, and research assistant. His published work reflects an interest in digital health technology, and includes investigations of apps, email-, and video consultations.
