The department offers bachelor's degree programmes and a master's degree programme in early childhood education, and continuing education. We have strong academic communities that contribute to research-based knowledge relevant to society's challenges in the field of early childhood education.

The Department of Early Childhood Education is part of the Faculty of Teacher Education and International Studies. We are located at Campus Pilestredet in Oslo. We develop our education programmes in close collaboration with the field of practice through the students' practical training and through research and innovation projects.
We have extensive activities within the field of competence development in Norwegian kindergartens.
